Our goal at Peoples Bank is to provide access to personal and business banking services and help the people in our community through quality services and outstanding customer service.
Peoples Bank of East Tennessee was proud to join Habitat for Humanity, USDA Rural Development, local leaders, and community partners for the groundbreaking of the Homes for Hometown Vets pilot program, a new affordable housing initiative focused on serving veterans, Gold Star families, and hometown heroes across Monroe and Loudon counties.
The groundbreaking marked an important step forward in bringing more affordable homeownership opportunities to rural East Tennessee. Through the partnership between Habitat for Humanity and USDA Rural Development, the pilot program is designed to help address housing needs for those who have served while creating long-term stability for families and strengthening the communities they call home.
Peoples Bank of East Tennessee has been honored to support the early foundation of this project through its continued partnership with Habitat for Humanity and local community leaders. James Hahn, SVP and Senior Lending Officer at Peoples Bank of East Tennessee, has also been involved through his service with Habitat for Humanity, further connecting the bank’s mission to efforts that support housing, stability, and opportunity in the region.
“At Peoples Bank of East Tennessee, we believe community banking is about more than financial services. It is about being part of the work that helps our communities grow stronger,” said James Hahn, SVP and Senior Lending Officer at Peoples Bank of East Tennessee. “This project represents what can happen when local relationships, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to service come together. We are grateful to be part of an initiative that honors veterans and helps create a place for families to build their future.”
During the event, speakers emphasized that affordable housing is about more than building houses. It is about creating homes, offering stability, supporting families, and helping people put down roots in the communities they have served and continue to strengthen.
For Peoples Bank of East Tennessee, the partnership reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting in the communities it serves. From supporting local families and businesses to partnering with organizations that address meaningful community needs, the bank remains focused on building relationships that create lasting impact.
“This is the kind of community partnership that matters,” said Jeremy Callais, President of Peoples Bank of East Tennessee. “When we invest in housing, we are investing in families, neighborhoods, workforce stability, and the long-term health of our communities. We are thankful for the work Habitat for Humanity and USDA Rural Development are doing, and we are proud to support efforts that make a real difference close to home.”
Peoples Bank of East Tennessee looks forward to continuing its support of Habitat for Humanity and the Homes for Hometown Vets initiative as the project moves forward.
